BroniesWiki:Editors

Although Bronies.wiki allows anyone to contribute or make changes, certain powers on the wiki are restricted to prevent abuse. These people, which we call editors, are seasoned users that have been granted additional abilities as a result of their history of contributions on Bronies.wiki.

Editors are not universal experts, nor subject matter experts. Editors are expected to improve articles, make consensus-based decisions, and to work to improve the wiki through collaboration with the community and their fellow editors.

Editors-in-chief[edit source]

Editors-in-chief are the highest rank available on the wiki. They have unlimited power to make wide-ranging changes to the wiki's interface, permanently delete certain revisions and promote other users.

Editors[edit source]

Editors are users who are considered to be valued and active contributors, with a generous history of edits on the wiki and engagement with the policy making process. In exchange, editors are granted limited administrative powers, such as the ability to protect and delete articles, rollback multiple edits, and block users—all tools useful in beating back vandalism and spam.

When to contact an editor[edit source]

For the most part, on wikis such as this, it is preferred that you to ask forgiveness rather than ask permission. If you think something needs to be done to an article, do it, leave a nice edit summary, and wait. If your changes aren't reverted, then you're all good! If they are, talk with the person who reverted them and try to work out a compromise.

If you can't work something out, you feel a party is acting in bad faith, or the agreed resolution requires an administrative power—then it's probably a good time to get in touch with an editor.
