Rarity fighting a giant crab is an Internet meme within the brony fandom. As the name implies, it invariably portrays Rarity engaging or about to engage a giant crab in combat through various means.

Origin

The earliest known instance of what would become the Rarity fighting a giant crab meme was posted on thexiiilightning's ask blog on January 19, 2013, which composed of artwork of Rarity using a diamond-tipped spear to threaten a giant Krabby, along with this description:

My part of the art trade with~ Whatsapokemon

I got asked to draw Rarity fighting a giant Crab.

I tried to draw a real one, but that didn’t work… so I drew one that looks like Krabby! XD
