Quantum SEAPonyCon
Quantum SEAPonyCon is a virtual convention organized by Project SEAPonyCon.
Originally created as an April Fools' Day joke in 2019, wherein attendees would use a wristband to "recombobulate" themselves into a synthwave-styled realm named "The Medium", allowing them to attend the convention from anywhere in the world.[1] Come 2020, the worldwide coronavirus pandemic and closure of international borders made Quantum SEAPonyCon a reality.

The first (real) Quantum SEAPonyCon took place on May 24, 2020, with panels and events simultaneously hosted on Discord and inside of The Medium Convention Centre, a fictional location created in a modded Minecraft server that included live streams, a virtual vendor hall, and a surrounding city that took two months to construct.[2] On the day of the convention, Minecraft server was fraught by technical difficulties, eventually forcing the server to be limited to only 55 attendees.[3]
On October 10, 2020, Quantum SEAPonyCon: Rewind was announced for October 17–18, intending to re-run the original event but with an optimized and updated Minecraft server. The intention to hold further virtual events in November and December of 2020 was also announced,[4] with the first of these being Abhiyaan SEAPonyCon.
