The European Pony Convention Union (or EPCU) was a multinational organization that existed between 2013 and 2016, that aimed to create a recognized standard for My Little Pony conventions—ensuring they were properly budgeted, competently managed, and positively represented the brony fandom to the public.[1] The creation of the EPCU was driven by the high-profile collapse of Las Pegasus Unicon in the United States.[2]

Conventions had to meet seven criteria to be considered for EPCU fellowship:[1][3]

  1. Be a registered and legally recognized organization within Europe.
  2. Have an organized funding plan.
  3. Have a public relations plan.
  4. Respect intellectual property.
  5. Be family-friendly.
  6. Be transparent about how the convention operates.
  7. Have held at least one previous convention.

FellowsEdit

The EPCU's ruling committee was made up of representatives from the member conventions.[1] At the time the EPCU ceased operations the following conventions maintained active fellowship:[3]

EPCU sealEdit

A seal (that was visually identical to the EPCU's logo) was provided for fellow conventions, to indicate that to the public their event met the requirements of the EPCU. A green version was available for conventions that hadn't operated their first convention, but otherwise met the requirements for EPCU membership.[3]

The EPCU seal contains an Easter egg: each quadrant symbolizes a different type of pony, with the first letter of each type making up the organization's initials—Earth ponies (ground and apple), Pegasi (clouds and wing), Crystal ponies (the Crystal Heart), and Unicorns (unicorn horn and magic).
